Game Day Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Ball

If you are a College Football or NFL fan, then here is a game changing snack to have at your next party! Even if you are not football fans, use it in a square pan for a great appetizer anytime.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8oz) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 TB brown sugar
  • 1 package mini chocolate chips
  • small handful white chocolate chips
  • graham crackers, vanilla wafers, and pretzels for serving

Instructions:

  1. Beat cream cheese, butter, and vanilla in a medium sized bowl until fluffy. Add sugar and beat until combined. Stir in 3/4 cup mini chocolate chip. Cover and refrigerate for two hours.
  2. If making a football shape, line the inside of the bowl with plastic wrap then fill with mixture. Cover the top with plastic wrap. If not, then simply place the mixture on a large piece of plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
  3. To decorate and serve, remove plastic wrap from top of the bowl and invert the cheesecake ball onto serving platter. Remove remaining plastic wrap. If you are not using a bowl, remove plastic wrap and serve as a ball, or use your hands to make into football shape.
  4. Decorate by covering cheesecake ball with remaining chocolate chips. To add accents to resemble “football laces”, add in white chocolate chips to center and top sides.
  5. Serve with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, and pretzels.

Back to School Party – RECESS!

BTSrecessIt’s Back to School Party time and you need some ideas for RECESS – here are some!

Things to do at the party:

Play bingo – cards can be printed off the computer. Kids love to play (so do adults) and prizes can all be related to back to school supplies.

Great activity – hula hoop – have the kids do the hula hoop all together or one at a time. Time them.   Try two together – that is fun and lots of laughs.

Play Red Rover, Dodge Ball, Ball and Jacks, Hopscotch – all those fun “oldie” games!

And to finish off your recess time – have photo time.   Set up an area with cute school things around it such as a desk, chair, sports equipment, books and a banner that says back to school with the year on it.   Send photos via email to parents after the party for a great memory saver.

US Tennis Party – Center Piece

US OPEN DecorationWhat a great decorating idea for your buffet table. Make it a potluck and ask the guests to bring something you would eat at the US Open. Plan the party around one of the big matches and munch while watching. Do you have a signature dish that you want to show off? Ask your friends to bring side dishes, dessert, etc. to give everyone a selection of foods to choose from while they watch!

Beach Party

BeachPartyIntroThe beach is always crowded during the summer, and sometimes it isn’t always easy to get the family together to go. You can always appease the questions about going by having your own celebration at the house! There are a lot of snack foods you can make that look like different nautical creatures, goody bags to give to the kids and decorative pieces to set up to give it a real beach experience. Keep an eye out on the blogs this week for more ideas and recipes on how to throw the ultimate beach party in your back yard!

One idea for decorations is to make signs for each food item that contains a beach themed name such as Sandy Beach Burgers, Hang Loose Hot Dogs, Surf’s Up Salad, Fun in the Sun Fruit Kabobs and Catch a Wave Chip and Dip! You can use these or even come up with your own ideas.

Go to the dollar store and pick up some new, small plastic buckets to use for snacks. Sand shovels could also be used as scoops and serving spoons. For some more fun ideas and recipes keep checking the blog through out the week!

Pool Party – Game

Summer is a Great time for a pool party! It is a great way to cool down, and everyone can relax pool side or swim around. All this week we are giving you ideas of how to pull of your own Pool Party, whether it is for the kids or having Your friends over for a weekend get together. Rubber Duckie Races You can usually have kids entertain themselves in the pool, whether it is playing with a Beach Ball or Fun Noodles. How about coming up with some new games to challenge them in the water? We have a cute Rubber Duckie Race that will be sure to get some laughs from the little ones, well, those of all ages! Just line up everyone at one end of the pool and have each person with a rubber duck in front of them. First person to get theirs to the other end wins, sounds pretty easy right? Well, how about adding a rule that you can only move it using your nose!? Another thing to consider is Party Favors. Some cute ideas would be Life Saver candies, a CD made up of Summer Time music, or even just Flip Flops! Yes, Flip Flops!
